Faster rewards and fantastic choice from new Westfield Visa card

Westfield, ANZ and Visa have announced a co-branded credit cardthat aims to build retail sales by rewarding customer loyalty inWestfield Shoppingtowns across Australia.
Chairman of Westfield Frank Lowy AO, Chief Executive of ANZ JohnMcFarlane, Visa’s Executive Vice-President Australia and NewZealand Hilton Sack and Managing Director of Westfield AustraliaSteven Lowy launched the card in Sydney this afternoon.
The Westfield Visa Card offers reward points on every purchaseat Visa accepting outlets worldwide, with substantial bonuses forshopping at Westfield Shoppingtowns. The program will also offerspecial privileges such as free car washing and early access tosales so Westfield Visa Card holders become VIPs in their localShoppingtown.
Westfield Chairman Frank Lowy said the national shopping centrecredit card was a first for Australia and was possible because ofWestfield’s strong branding.
“Our shoppers know their shopping centre as ‘Westfield’ becauseof our branding strategy which is unique in the world,” Mr Lowysaid. “In Australia alone there are more than 5 million shoppingvisits to Westfield every week. More than $7 billion in retailsales was transacted with our retailers last year and around 70 percent of the Australian population lives within 30 minutes drive ofa Westfield Shoppingtown.
“That means we have the branding plus the reach and customerbase for growing a successful loyalty marketing program. We haveharnessed two other powerful brands, Visa and ANZ, to produce aprogram with real benefits for retailers and for shoppers.”
Westfield Managing Director Australia Steven Lowy said rewardpoints will be redeemed for shopping dollars to spend on acomprehensive range of products and services from WestfieldShoppingtowns.
“We believe what distinguishes this card, is the offer of fasterrewards and fantastic choice,” Mr Lowy said. “Every one of our Visaaccepting retailers is part of this program. Since we pre-launchedthe concept to retailers in April this year more than 2,000 retailoutlets have also signed on as Bonus Retailers.
“Bonus Retailers are a special category of Westfield store that notonly provide additional bonus reward points, but offer a widechoice of products and services for shoppers to spend their rewardson.
“Bonus retailers range from independent retailers in individualshopping centres to major national chains,” Mr Lowy said.
“The chains include clothing and fashion stores such as JustJeans, Roger David, Cue, Jeans West and Best & Less; jewellerssuch as Angus & Coote and Goldmark; book sellers includingAngus & Robertson and Dymocks; shoe stores including Williamsthe Shoeman and Footlocker; music stores including HMV and ABCshops; service providers like Mr Minit, Rabbit Photo and Kodak plusthe cinema chains Village, Hoyts and Greater Union, plus manyothers.

ANZ Chief Executive Officer John McFarlane said co-brandedcredit cards which recognise and reward customers for theiron-going business have been the growth segment in credit cards inAustralia over the last three years.
