Terrace Tower Group today confirmed that Myer would open a new department store at Westfield Eastgardens following the expiry of the David Jones lease later this year.

David Jones has been an important part of the centre since it opened in 1987, said Terrace Tower Group Managing Director David Dinte and the store has played a key role in the centres performance during that time.

We look forward to the arrival of Myer as the new anchor department store at Westfield Eastgardens and are excited about the opportunity to provide the centres customers with a fully refitted and revitalised department store.

In announcing this further store opening today, Myer CEO Bernie Brookes said: This store is in an ideal location for us and has a good local demographic. Eastgardens shopping centre is a busy centre that has a very full customer offer including a cinema complex, specialty retailers and supermarkets a department store offering is always key in a centre such as this.

The arrival of Myer will complement Eastgardens existing retail mix and build on its position as one of the strongest-performing centres in Australia.

Myers opening date is still to be confirmed.

Westfield Eastgardens is owned by Terrace Tower Group and managed by the Westfield Group.
