WESTFIELD VALENCIA TOWN CENTER CELEBRATES US$130 MILLION REVITALIZATION
November 11, 2010
The “Shops at the Patios” is an outdoor oasis of 40 new shops and restaurants
Santa Clarita, CA — Joined by local elected officials and the Santa Clarita Chamber of Commerce, Westfield Valencia Town Center today celebrated the Grand Opening of its US $130 million revitalization that creates an entirely new open-air shopping and dining district within the Santa Clarita Valley’s most visited retail destination.
Known as the Shops at the Patios, this sparkling new outdoor oasis integrates 40 fashionable boutiques and restaurants in an intimate upscale setting. First time shops opening in the community of Santa Clarita (located 30 miles north of Los Angeles) include such outstanding brands as BCBG MAXAZRIA, Chico’s, Michael Kors, Sephora, Soma, Swarovski, True Religion, White House | Black Market, and Williams-Sonoma. This new outdoor environment also showcases a vibrant line-up of full service restaurants such as Wokcano (a Japanese sushi bar and steakhouse) and Lazy Dog Caf, along with alfresco patio dining, as well as a coffeehouse, wine bar, and bakery.
Santa Clarita Mayor Laurene Weste and other municipal officials joined Chamber members and Westfield executives to celebrate the revitalized center and launch the holiday trading season. “Our city has already been recognized as the most business-friendly locale in Los Angeles County and even as the best place to live in the entire State of California,” says Mayor Weste. “We’re thrilled to have Westfield’s Shops at the Patios become a new addition to our city. It’s a great example of how business and local government can partner to provide good jobs for our community. More than seven hundred new full-time positions have been created by this reinvestment project, and over time that number will increase.”
Taking inspiration from the Santa Clarita lifestyle and an appreciation of nature and natural dcor, the Shops at the Patios district is punctuated by green landscapes, outdoor verandas, fountains, koi ponds, fire pits, organic materials, natural stone, and sleek seating where visitors can revel in the setting’s creative interplay between modern fashion and rustic simplicity.
“The ambience, merchandise, cuisine and amenities now available at Westfield Valencia Town Center and the Shops at the Patios are a perfect fit for the fashion-conscious shoppers of Santa Clarita,” said John Widdup, Westfield Chief Operating Officer, United States. “From a company perspective, this project reflects Westfield’s continued commitment to our communities combined with the application of international best practices – all tailored to meet the needs and demands of each market. We are delighted to welcome our shoppers to the new Westfield Valencia Town Center.”
