Scentre Group welcomes COVID-19 Retail Recovery

Scentre Group CEO, Peter Allen, today welcomed the release of the COVID-19 Retail Recovery Protocol and confirmed the Group was committed to working with its retail partners and the broader community to continue to prioritise the health and wellbeing of its customers, retail partners and people.

“We are pleased to have helped to develop these Protocol measures, all of which are in place in the day-to-day operations of our Westfield centres. All of our Westfield centres have remained open throughout the pandemic to provide essential and valued services to our communities such as supermarkets, food and grocery stores, pharmacies, medical centres and other retail stores.

“We will also look to adopt relevant Protocol measures across our New Zealand centres at the appropriate time, in line with New Zealand government COVID-19 alert levels.

“The economy is still charting the road back and our business and retail has a key role to play in this but it will take time and will happen gradually. We will continue to follow the advice of the Australian and New Zealand health authorities and expect our customers and retail partners to do the same when they visit us. We are all in this together.

“As governments across the country begin to gradually ease restrictions, I would like to reassure the community that they can continue to shop at Westfield centres with confidence.”
