Westfield named Co-Major Partner of Western Sydney Wanderers as part of two-year partnership extensionWe are excited to share a major extension of our long-standing partnership with Western Sydney Wanderers FC, with Westfield becoming Co-Major Partner of the Club as part of a new two-year agreement. The extension will represent 14 years of partnership between the Wanderers and Westfield, making it one of the longest-standing commercial relationships in the Club’s history. As part of the expanded partnership, Westfield will feature on the front of the Wanderers Men’s home shirt for one year of the new agreement, marking a significant new chapter in a relationship that has been embedded in the Western Sydney community since the Club’s formative years. For more than a decade, the Wanderers and Westfield have worked together to bring football closer to communities across Western Sydney. The partnership has played an important role in fostering fan engagement, enhancing match day experiences and encouraging active lifestyles, including through football clinics and community initiatives delivered at Westfield destinations in Western Sydney. Our Chief Executive Officer, Elliott Rusanow said: “Our Westfield destinations have been at the heart of the Western Sydney community for generations. They are places that millions of people come to every year.“We are excited to extend our partnership with the Western Sydney Wanderers for a further two years and deepen our support as Co-Major Partner. “Over the years, our partnership with the Wanderers has enabled us to connect with fans, families and young people through meaningful experiences both in our destinations and at the games. “We’re looking forward to taking this fantastic and long-standing partnership to the next level and sharing in the success of the Wanderers with our Western Sydney community.”Western Sydney Wanderers CEO Scott Hudson said the expanded partnership reflected the strength of a relationship built on a shared commitment to Western Sydney.“When the opportunity arose for Westfield to step into the Co-Major Partner position, they stepped forward at an important moment for our Club. That says an enormous amount about who they are as an organisation and the relationship we have built together,” said Hudson.“Westfield has always been an important pillar of the Western Sydney community. They understand this region, they believe in its people and, over the course of our history, they have consistently backed this Club and what we represent.“This extension will take our partnership to 16 years at the end of the term, making Westfield our longest-serving partner. That is an extraordinary commitment and one we never take for granted.“Partnerships of that length are built on far more than branding or commercial outcomes. They are built on trust, shared values, and being prepared to stand alongside each other when it matters.“To now see Westfield step up as a Co-Major Partner and feature on the front of our Men’s home shirt feels incredibly significant. It is a proud reflection of the journey we have shared and the strength of the relationship between two organisations deeply connected to Western Sydney.“We are incredibly grateful for Westfield’s continued belief in the Wanderers and excited about what this next chapter will bring for our Members, fans and the wider Western Sydney community.”The partnership includes Westfield destinations in Western Sydney, including Westfield Burwood, Westfield Liverpool, Westfield Mt Druitt, Westfield Parramatta and Westfield Penrith. Together, these destinations are visited by more than 92 million customers annually.

We are excited to share a major extension of our long-standing partnership.

The Government announced approval of the Group’s proposal to initiate the formal process to transform land surrounding Westfield West Lakes in Adelaide with the potential for up to 2,000 new homes close to jobs, infrastructure and services in the future. I commend the Scentre Group for having the ambitious vision to bring this to life.”Minister Champion said: “The transformation of strategic, well-serviced infill sites like Westfield West Lakes will make a serious contribution to fixing the national housing crisis in South Australia. “Homes above the shops, on a site that already has the roads, the buses, the car parking, amenity and the community services to support them. Elena Petroska’s career journeyElena Petroska’s career journey with Scentre Group has spanned more than two decades and includes taking part in Scentre Group’s bespoke Enterprise Leadership Program delivered in partnership with the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business Executive Education. My career journey started with Westfield in October 2002.At the time, I worked at Gloria Jeans in Westfield Liverpool, making coffees for the centre management team each morning. One day, the Centre Manager approached me and said, "We'd love you to join our Concierge team."I had no idea what happened behind the scenes of a shopping centre, but I've always been curious, so of course I said I'd love to find out more. When I arrived for the interview that afternoon, I was nervous. I already knew Peter, who was the Marketing Manager at the time, and I met Sandra, the Marketing Executive, who I'm still in contact with more than 20 years later.I was so nervous, but I didn't need to be, because after I told them I could do an Excel spreadsheet, that was it, I started the very same day.Over the next two years I immersed myself in the business, working across Concierge, was a Westfield ambassador and supported number of operational roles while Westfield Liverpool underwent a major redevelopment. As the development ramped up, I was offered a full-time Concierge Supervisor role. I turned it down because I wanted to finish university.By then, Peter had become Centre Manager. He said to me, "Give me three months and if you don't like it, you can go back and finish uni."So, at 21 years old, I suddenly had 24 people reporting to me. It was daunting. It was exciting. It was one of the best decisions I ever made.Looking back, that conversation changed the course of my career. After four years at Westfield Liverpool, I moved into my first marketing role as Marketing Assistant at Westfield Penrith. Although I'd enjoyed every role I'd done to that point, marketing was where I found my passion. That role opened the door to new opportunities, taking me to the Support Office, then Westfield Mount Druitt and eventually Westfield Sydney before I took parental leave with my first child. When I returned, I joined Westfield Burwood and became one half of the very first operational job share. At the time, there was a view that operational roles simply couldn't be job shared. But another colleague and I were determined to prove otherwise. We successfully job shared for five and a half years while we both raised our young families.I like to think we helped pave the way for the flexible working arrangements that so many people across Scentre Group benefit from today. After my second period of parental leave, I was given the opportunity to establish the Brand Partnerships role. From there, I went on to establish and grow the Retail Partnerships team, building strategic relationships and creating new opportunities for our customers, our retail partners and our business. When I look back across my career, every opportunity came because someone trusted me with something important before I had done it before. That trust continued when I was invited to attend the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business leadership program in the United States.I was blown away to be selected. If I'm honest, I was also full of self-doubt. I questioned whether I belonged there. What USC gave me was much more than a leadership program. It gave me the confidence to recalibrate how I see myself and to recognise the value I bring. It was a turning point.USC fundamentally shifted my perspective from thinking as a functional leader to thinking with an enterprise mindset. It challenged me to look beyond my own expertise and understand how every part of the business influences another, and how positive influence is essential if we're going to deliver the best outcomes together. One of the biggest lessons I took away was around curiosity.Curiosity has always been part of our DNA at Scentre Group, but USC introduced me to the idea of open curiosity. Instead of leading with what we know, we start by asking, "How can I help?" That simple shift changes everything. It moves us from delivering in our own roles to delivering together for the business.I still find myself using the language and principles from USC every day, and I see their impact across our leadership team as they've become part of how we think, collaborate and lead.Attending USC was one of the defining moments of my career. Not long afterwards, I was promoted. My role expanded to Head of Marketing, Destinations and Partnerships, bringing together marketing, key partnerships and enterprise relationship building. I still love marketing, but I also love being part of conversations that have a broader impact across our business and helping shape opportunities that extend well beyond my own function. When I reflect on the last 20-plus years, what stands out isn't the titles I've held or the roles I've been fortunate enough to do. It's the people. The people who took a chance on a young woman making coffees at Gloria Jeans. The people who encouraged me to say yes when I wasn't sure I was ready. The people who challenged me, trusted me, invested in me and helped me see possibilities I couldn't yet see for myself. When I joined Concierge, I'd only been in Australia for five years and was still learning English. If someone had told me then that one day I'd be studying at one of the world's leading business schools, building strategic partnerships, leading national teams and helping shape the future of our business, I never would have believed them. Those opportunities have shaped not only my career but also the kind of leader I want to be.Today, one of the things I'm most passionate about is helping other people grow. I love creating opportunities for people, building their confidence, encouraging them to back themselves and helping them achieve things they didn't think were possible.Scentre Group has given me an incredible career, but more importantly, it has shown me what great leadership looks like. Leadership is believing in people before they believe in themselves. After more than two decades, I still love this company, I still love the people I work with, and I'm excited about what's ahead, not just for me, but for the next generation of talent that I have the privilege of coach, support and develop, just as so many people did for me.

Elena’s career journey with Scentre Group has spanned more than two decades including taking part in Scentre Group’s bespoke Enterprise Leadership Program.

Luci Corley talks about her career breakWhen Luci Corley, Regional Commercial Retail Manager, learnt career breaks were an employee benefit, she jumped at the opportunity.

Having recently returned from a 12-month break, she says: “It was never that I wanted to leave, do a different job or work for a different company – I just needed time. The benefit for me and my family was immense, and having returned, I believe the business and my team are benefitting from a renewed level of energy in their manager.”At the end of 2024 I observed that my mind was not in the game. I was still getting through my work, enjoying the job and loved the people I worked with, but I knew I wasn’t operating at my peak. At the same time my husband and I were facing some challenges with our son who had experienced some difficulties since starting school the year before. I didn’t want to leave Scentre Group, but I knew some time away from the workplace was what I needed. I was wondering about how I could make that happen when I received an email about our employee benefits. The list included taking a career break – well that immediately spoke to me.Scentre Group offers our people the opportunity to take extended time off, and I organised to take a career break during 2025. It wasn’t until I was on leave that I realised just how needed that time off was. I was able to focus on my son without worrying about completing a day’s work. Knowing that I could be completely focused on our son to support him through a tough time, reduced the stress the whole family would likely have felt had I been working at the same time. Our son is now thriving in a new school and back to being his happy self. The saying that you’re only ever as happy as your least happy child is something that deeply resonates with me, and my career break was what we all needed to see the light. Now that I’ve returned to work, I see my career break has other benefits too.My time away created an opportunity for another team member to take on a new challenge and build capability by stepping into my role. My team is benefitting from a renewed level of energy in their manager. And I’m delivering for the business in a way, that in hindsight, I just wasn’t capable of in the period immediately before my break. I never wanted to leave our business, so having the opportunity to step away with the security of being able to return is something I deeply appreciate. Knowing that Scentre Group supported me when I needed it the most has built a deeper level of commitment to what I truly see as being a genuine partnership.I’m incredibly grateful that a career break is something we offer as a business.

Having recently returned, Luci shares her experience of taking a 12-month career break.

Max RobertsMax Roberts, Group General Manager Operations Finance, shares how he found his way to accounting and built his technical and leadership skills throughout his career journey. My Dad was an accountant and was adamant I shouldn’t be one, so my commerce degree was in Marketing – avoiding all finance and accounting subjects. Long story short, I ended up working at PwC in a non-finance role. They convinced me to join them on the accounting side, supporting me to complete all the missed accounting subjects and my Chartered Accounting qualification. Turns out I was quite good at it and enjoyed it. After five years, I joined Westfield as a Leasing Finance Analyst – that was in 2010!It’s been 16 very rewarding years with the business since.Working at Scentre Group has provided so many opportunities to apply and grow my technical, commercial and leadership skills. It’s been a place where I could bring my technical finance skills to the table and be a key part of the team, not just a support function providing analysis and reporting. This proximity to the business has given me a front row seat on how various executives lead, negotiate, navigate challenges, read the play and make decisions. Observing this I’ve been able to take the good to mould how I should perform and lead in my role today. The challenge of working somewhere for so long is ensuring you get a view of what’s happening outside in the broader market. I maintain my external networks to understand what is happening from a technical, commercial and technology perspective. Also, at Scentre Group we are incredibly privileged to have access to world class leadership development through programs such as Thrive and our partnership with USC – both of which have helped shape and grow my leadership skills. My advice to others would be to put your hand up for new experiences, even if you think you don’t have all the skills required. Chances are there will be someone in the business who has and will be willing to help. The most rewarding experiences of my career have been when I embarked on something that I wasn’t fully equipped in. By remaining humble, curious and leveraging the breadth of our team - it’s amazing what can be achieved.

The program culminated with conversations between participants and members of our Board over an intimate boardroom lunch. Long after the formal program is complete, Executive Sponsors, our Board and line managers coach and challenge the group to support our female leaders continue their development. For Djazia Ladjal, Principal Data Scientist, the program was a journey of self-discovery: “The Female Leadership Program has helped me realise what true leadership means. It’s not about following frameworks or rules but leading with purpose, empathy and confidence from within. “It was an honour to share lunch with our Scentre Group Board. This highlights their personal investment in the program which I am very grateful for. Our discussion on AI, fulfilment and life balance - including the reminder to prioritise health and family - was both grounding and inspiring.“This is a truly unique initiative, and it was a privilege to be part of it.”Sponsorship is central to the program’s success. Senior leaders amplify the visibility, readiness, and career momentum of emerging female talent. David Black, General Manager Data & Analytics, shared: “It was inspiring to see the level of dedication that went into this program from Djazia and those involved in facilitating. It was a clear commitment to the growth and development of the future talent here at Scentre Group.“The results have been immediate and remarkable. The program’s focus on presence and storytelling has given Djazia the confidence to embrace her authentic leadership style. She is committed to leading with clarity and an enterprise mindset that will have a real impact for our business.”
