Three in a row - recognised again as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality

In recognition of the significant progress we’ve made on gender equality, we’re proud to again be recognised and publicly endorsed by the Australian Workplace Gender Equality Agency as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality. It’s the third time we’ve received this citation and our current endorsement extends to 2021.

Our CEO Peter Allen said: “I’m incredibly proud that Scentre Group has once again been publicly endorsed as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality and now for an extended period. This acknowledges the work we have done right across the organisation to build a culture that is consistent with our aspiration to be ‘the place where talent thrives’.

“Our focus on gender equity ensures we drive strong employee engagement and retention, improving our productivity and business performance.

“Whilst we are so pleased to receive this citation, we know we have more to do to ensure gender equity is full integrated into our decision-making, development planning and talent acquisition.

“We have a range of initiatives underway as part of our Gender Equity Strategy to ensure we continue to deliver against our target of 40% women, 40% men and 20% of either gender at all levels of the organisation.

“I’m proud to say that all of our people today are paid fairly and equitably without any gender bias, we embrace flexible working and encourage everyone to bring their whole self to work.

“We also recently updated our parental leave policy to help our parents ‘share the care’.”

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and communities of the lands on which our business operates.
We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to their Elders past and present.
We recognise the unique role of Māori as Tangata Whenua of Aotearoa/New Zealand.
