Scentre Group included in 2021 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index

Scentre Group today announced it was one of 380 companies globally and one of ten in Australia to be included in the 2021 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI). This is the second consecutive year the Group has been included in the index.

Scentre Group CEO Peter Allen said: “Our diversity and inclusion strategy is a key part of what drives our company culture and supports our vision to be the place where talent thrives. It’s pleasing to see we’ve been included in the 2021 Bloomberg GEI for the second year running because it demonstrates that our sustained focus is delivering improved results.

“Being strategic in addressing gender equality within our workplace allows us to maintain strong employee engagement and retention, as well as improve our productivity and performance as a business. We look forward to maintaining this focus with our team and continuing to learn and improve.”

The reference index measures gender equality across five pillars: female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, sexual harassment policies, and pro-women brand. Scentre Group was included in this year’s index for scoring at or above a global threshold established by Bloomberg to reflect a high level of disclosure and overall performance across the framework’s five pillars.

Grauer, Chairman of Bloomberg. “Their commitment to disclosure is making the business case for inclusion, and driving transparency in the markets.”
