Welcoming our new starters

We want our team members to feel a sense of belonging from the moment they join Scentre Group. We aim to achieve this through fostering connection to our purpose, leaders and culture.

Every team member contributes to delivering our purpose and customer experience, so it is important for all new starters to spend their first day with us in one of our Westfield destinations.

Maria Stamoulis, Director Human Resources said: “We want our induction to set people up for success.

“Our day one immersion in operations is designed to show how everything comes together in our destinations to deliver extraordinary customer experiences every day.

“It also allows team members to begin building connections across the organisation with a shared experience.”

To facilitate a personal connection between our newest team members and leaders, this year we introduced “A conversation with Elliott”.

This is a series of in-person sessions for team members who have joined us within the past 12 months with our CEO.

Our CEO, Elliott Rusanow said: “We are at our best when we are connected and everyone understands their role in accelerating our ambition for growth.

“These conversations are about listening, learning and leading together.

“I want our team members’ open, honest and constructive feedback because I know they bring external perspectives which are really valuable. Similarly, I want to provide them with knowledge and a sense of connection to our strategy.”

Luke Doolan, Group Sales Manager, BrandSpace said: “After 15 years in media sales, this was my first face-to-face sit down with a CEO to hear about their journey, focus and vision. This experience affirmed why I chose to join Scentre Group.

“The session was energising, inclusive and future-focused, and left me feeling genuinely welcomed and excited for what I hope will be a long and successful career here.”
