Westfield Kotara launches "The Rooftop"

Westfield Kotara today opens its Hunter Valley-inspired outdoor dining and entertainment precinct – The Rooftop – as part of a $55 million redevelopment that includes a brand new Events Cinemas scheduled to open in December.

Featuring nine new restaurants and a performance stage, The Rooftop is an open-aired precinct built from rustic locally-sourced timber, with exposed chimneys, and a landscaped garden and play area.

The Rooftop will have a mix of restaurants operating from morning to night. Serving modern Australian and authentic international cuisines, new retailers include Criniti’s, Zeus Street Greek, Mad Mex, Lone Star Rib House, San Churro, Nando’s, Kinn Thai, Grill’d and Noodle Hut.

The Rooftop’s permanent stage and grassy areas have been designed using the relaxed Novacastrian lifestyle as its inspiration. It will allow Westfield Kotara to host a summer gig series in partnership with Newcastle LIVE (details in notes).

This December The Rooftop will also open Event Cinemas Kotara, set to be Newcastle’s premier movie theatre with two Gold Class cinemas, 1 VMAX cinema and five traditional cinema auditoriums.

Conveniently located less than 5kms from Newcastle’s CBD, Westfield Kotara serves an emerging trade area with a population close to 390,000 people.
