Diversity, equity and inclusion

Diversity, equity and inclusion underpins our culture, and our vision is that ‘Everyone Belongs’.

For us, diversity means recognising and valuing the contribution of people with different backgrounds, different perspectives and experiences.

Equity means we support each of our people to recognise their individual circumstances, and to help them overcome any personal challenges or barriers so they can realise their unique potential.

Inclusion means we ensure that all our peoples’ differences are welcome and respected.

Why be vanilla?

We aim to embed diversity, equity and inclusion in all that we do, which includes:
  • having leading people policies and guidelines in place

  • deliver initiatives that promote and foster an inclusive workplace experience and culture

  • raising awareness and understanding of relevant issues and equipping our people with knowledge and capabilities through tailored education.

Our people policies and guidelines include:
  • Life Leave Policy provides eligible team members with an additional five days of paid leave per year, pro-rated for part-time team members, aimed at helping our people achieve a better work life balance.

  • Parental Leave Policy offering 18 weeks gender neutral parental leave with no qualifying period and four weeks paid leave for secondary carers. The policy also includes support for stillbirth, premature birth, IVF treatment and foster care/adoption.

  • Domestic & Family Violence Policy providing financial and non-financial assistance, including unlimited paid leave, for employees who may be experiencing domestic and family violence.

  • Workplace Adjustment Guidelines detailing modifications to our work practices and physical work environment to enable people with disabilities to perform in their roles.

  • Gender Affirmation/Transition Guidelines to provide tailored support to the individual and education for their team.

  • Flexible Working Arrangements detail the ways we can accommodate flexibility for people so they can balance their personal and work priorities. While not every role can accommodate every type of flexibility, we believe that all roles – regardless of level or location – can be undertaken with some form of flexibility.
